  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Dixie Frontier Kinist -- A Beautiful Revelation of Historic Baptist Doctrine : I purchased and read this wonderful book earlier this summer. Perhaps this is as much a testimony as a book review. I spent a good portion of my teenage and adult years in two (supposedly) conservative, KJV only, Independent Fundamental Baptist churches. As I began to seriously study the history of Baptists, while attending one of these churches about three and a half years ago, I read Baptist preacher James Beller's Baptist history book "America In Crimson Red". In it I learned that a great deal of the Baptists of the past were Calvinists. (Note: Beller was basically a Arminian who inconsistently believed in Eternal Security -as do most Baptists). I was surprised to learn how many Baptists of the past held to the doctrine of Sovereign Grace. ( Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2015 )
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars from Seeking Disciple -- Good Confession, Small Print : This is the 1689 Second London Confession of Faith that was the standard confession for Baptist churches in the British Empire for the next 250 years. It was a Calvinistic confession that differed with the other Calvinistis confessions over believers baptism and the Lord’s Supper. This was the Confession that the great Charles Sourgeon held to. • 5.0 out of 5 stars from FR94 -- Great little book for studying Confessions : If you’re coming from a Baptist background or are wanting to study the traditional Baptist upbringing, this book would be recommended to you. Of course this is not as extensive as some other Baptist Confessional books but this one will go well with your denominational study. Great book to use if you are wanting to dig deeper about where the Baptists traditionally get their confessions from. The Southern Baptist Convention borrows some of these principles and implement them into their Baptist Faith & Message. ( Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2019 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Tyler J -- Cute little book! : The size and overall design of the book is honestly just super cute! It’s easy to carry around, given that it’s pocket sized, and I just toss it in my backpack whenever I leave the house. Great read in those dead moments of the day. I’m super appreciative of the fact that I can easily reference my favorite Reformed confession, which is the one that I’ve decided to adhere to specifically.
